Product Highlight: Large Divided Bin for US General Series 3 Hutch and ICON Hutch and Locker

Large divided bin mounted on a US General Series 3 and ICON hutch slotted pegboard, holding markers, screwdrivers, and small hand tools.

After the single compartment bin, I wanted another option.

The single bin worked well for everyday items. Pens. Markers. A screwdriver. A wrench. The kind of stuff I reach for often and do not want buried in a drawer.

But not every setup needs one open compartment.

Sometimes you want separation.

That is why I made the Large Divided Bin.

It gives you two compartments instead of one, so you can split your hutch items in a way that makes sense for how you work. Pens and markers on one side. Tools on the other. Or any other setup that keeps your usual items easier to grab.

Made for more options on your hutch wall

The Large Divided Bin is not meant to replace the single compartment bin.

It just gives you another way to use the same empty hutch space.

Some people like one open bin. Some people want separation. I wanted both options because every toolbox setup is different, and the way you organize your hutch depends on what you use every day.

For my setup, one side made sense for pens and markers. The other side worked for tools.

Simple. Visible. Easy to reach.

That is the point.

Built for US General Series 3 and ICON slotted boards

I designed this bin around the US General Series 3 hutch slotted pegboard.

It also fits the ICON hutch and ICON locker slotted board. The bin mounts directly into the slots, so you can use the back wall without drilling holes or trying to force standard pegboard accessories into a board they were not made for.

The fit matters.

A hutch accessory should not feel loose, awkward, or out of place. It should sit on the board like it belongs there and help you use space that would otherwise sit empty.

That was the goal with this bin.

Why the divided design helps

A single open bin works when you want everything together.

A divided bin works when you want quick separation.

You can keep writing tools on one side and hand tools on the other. You can separate markers from picks. You can keep zip ties on one side and tools on the other if that fits your workflow.

The divider keeps items from turning into one mixed pile.

That sounds like a small thing, but it matters when you are working. If you always grab the same marker, screwdriver, or wrench, you should not have to dig for it.

You should see it and grab it.

Good uses for the Large Divided Bin

Use this bin for the everyday items you want close.

Pens and markers.

Screwdrivers.

A 6 inch wrench.

Picks or pry tools.

Brushes.

Zip ties.

Measuring tools that fit.

Other shop items that usually roll around, get buried, or end up sitting loose on the hutch surface.

The divided layout gives you more control over how those items sit. It does not force one type of organization. It gives you options.

Better than loose tools on the work surface

Loose items always find a way to take over.

A pen rolls behind something. A marker gets buried. A small screwdriver ends up under a rag. Then you waste time looking for the same basic tools over and over.

This bin helps stop that.

It gives those items a place on the wall, right where you can see them. That keeps your hutch surface cleaner and keeps your go-to items within reach.

You do not need a complicated storage system for every small problem.

Sometimes you just need the right bin in the right spot.

Printed in PETG for functional shop use

I print the Large Divided Bin in PETG.

PETG is generally tougher and more flexible than PLA. It also handles heat better, which makes it a better choice for garage, shop, and toolbox hutch use.

PLA can be useful for some prints, but I do not prefer it for this kind of functional part. It is more rigid and can become brittle over time, especially with heat or repeated use.

PETG gives this bin a better balance of strength, flexibility, and heat resistance.

It is still a 3D printed part, so use it for the type of storage it was made for. Tools, pens, markers, zip ties, and other light shop items make sense. Overloading it does not.

Part of the hutch accessory system I wanted for my own setup

Most of these products started because I needed them myself.

I bought the hutch, saw the slotted back wall, and expected to find plenty of accessories for it. That was not the case. The board had potential, but there were not many parts available that fit the way I wanted.

So I started making my own.

The small hook came first. Then the single compartment bin. The Large Divided Bin came from the same idea, but with more organization built in.

It is another way to use the wall space you already paid for.
